Ellen's Diorama

Ellen was thrilled to be assigned a class project to create a diorama depicting a scene from a book. She selected The Island of the Blue Dolphins.

Will's Self-Portrait

Will created this self-portrait at school using torn pieces of construction paper.

Looking Back at Rothko

Sometime the year before Kindergarten--when she was still four or just-turned-five--Ellen learned about the artist Mark Rothko in her art class and then created these large paintings. We took her into the city to the National Gallery of Art to see some of Mark Rothko's work and she was beside herself delighted!

Old North Church

Ellen and some friends painted this picture of Old North Church in Boston where, in 1775, Paul Revere lit two lanterns to tell the patriots across the river in Charlestown that the British were coming across the river and not by land.

More Lego Creations!

Will was busy all weekend building with Legos. Saturday, he made the crocodile. Sunday, he took it apart and turned it into a dinosaur.

And on Monday, he built this firetruck.
